Selkie Adaptive Paddle

                                                            

     Our goal at Selkie Adaptive Paddle is to offer amazing guided adaptive adventures to people of all abilities, and for their friends and families to enjoy the experience with them.

     We will help you discover the beautiful waters of Boca Grande and Englewood, Florida by kayak and paddleboard. Meet manatees and dolphins, learn about the wide variety of birds and coastal ecosystems, explore shelling, or wet your fishing line.

....so what's a Selkie?

Selkies are mythological creatures found in Irish, Scottish, and Icelandic folklore. Selkies are said to live as magical seals in the sea but shed their skin to become human on land.

Tour Pricing

Reservations for tours always required.

Available hours for tours

are 7 am to 5 pm

   

    $75.00 per person for a 2-3 hour tour

$125 per person for a 4-5 hour tour (includes time for a swim/lunch/snorkel on sandbar island)

$25.00 per child (ride-a-longs)

* ALL tours are private tours

*We do not do rentals/not a livery

  These donations will be used for things such as new equipment, upkeep of our existing equipment, training volunteers, and hiring additional certified tour guides needed for water activities.

 

Information and Frequently Asked Questions

  • Life jackets are mandatory to be worn on all tours. Waist belts available for participants who are avid swimmers.  

  • Children 12 and under must wear a level 1 PFD

  • Leashes are mandatory on all paddleboard tours, safety is our Number One Priority

  • Reservations are Always Required for tours

  • What to bring :

 

               * Sunglasses with floating tethers (available for purchase), polarized are best for wildlife viewing

 

               * Hydration hydration hydration !! It gets hot out here!  Dry bags are available for use for drink and snacks

 

               * Water shoes or bare feet are fine on the board, but bring shoes that can get wet for your walks during breaks. No persons

                 with open cuts, sores, or rashes for safety reasons and potential for infection.

 

               * Please wear light quick dry clothing or bathing suits, no heavy cotton clothes

                       

               *Any medication you will need or equipment that is necessary to have with you on the  

                          water (example Epipens, Glucagon, Solucortef, Diastat...). 

    

               *Sunscreen and hats

  • Duk Gear waterproof floating phone cases are available for your use while out on the water.

  • If you are having any difficulties please call us, we are here to help!

  • A land based lesson is included for all tours.

  • Available watercraft: Kayaks single and tandem, Paddleboards, Supsquatch, and Hybrid paddleboards with a seat.  

  • Adaptive equipment available for all tours.

  • Although we have an amazing team of tour guides and staff with extensive medical background, there is essential criteria in         order to tour with us for safety reasons. We have adopted the American Canoe Associations guidelines for requirements. All        medical information will be handled according to HIPPA Privacy Acts.

 

   ACA Essential Eligibility Criteria

            1.Breathe independently (i.e., not require medical devices to sustain breathing.     

    2.Independently maintain sealed airway passages while under water

    3.Independently hold head upright without neck / head support

    4.Manage personal care independently or with assistance of a companion

    5.Manage personal mobility independently or with a reasonable amount of assistance

           6.Follow instructions and effectively communicate independently or with assistance of a companion

           7.Independently turn from face-down to face-up and remain floating face up while wearing a 

              properly fitted life jacket

           8.Get in/out or on/off of a paddle craft independently or with a reasonable amount of assistance

            Be comfortable in the water and enjoy water activities
